CHICAGO (CBS) — A cool, breezy, and wet pattern will set up in the Chicago area on Sunday. The dry ridge of high pressure is breaking down and moving away, allowing moisture to increase from the southwest.
A dry air mass is in place for Saturday evening, so the real push of rain will come with the upper-level feature and cold front overnight.
Waves of rain are expected Sunday, with thunder at times in the morning. Rain amounts could total 1 inch, with some isolated higher amounts possible. Flood risk is low due to the current dry conditions in the area.
Fall begins at 7:43 a.m. Sunday. It will certainly feel like it for the next several days.
SATURDAY NIGHT: Shower chance with isolated thunder at times. LOW: 68
SUNDAY: Rain likely, thunder at times. HIGH: 74
MONDAY: Cooler. Leftover showers possible. HIGH: 68
