The ship wheel is made of solid brass with a lacquer coating for a bit of gloss. The clock is made of brass and is fully functional. The porthole clock front opens up and hidden inside is the battery compartment so it's not visible anywhere when the porthole is closed. Fully functional dog ears to open and close the front of the clock. Requires 1 AA battery - not included. Mounts easily to the wall using a single hole bracket on the back (mounting hardware not included). Hang this item in your bar, beach house, or in any other nautical themed room you can imagine.
