Distance is marked for regular camera with 2Mp sensor with ?Slow Shutter? mode ON and digital image enhancement modes so-called DSS AGC, DWDR, DNR, 3DNR etc. enable. Please be noted in this case you may get bright and contrast static image, but moving object might get some blur. So if it required to decrease image blur please disable this features in camera menu. With ?Slow Shutter? mode OFF and digital image enhancement modes disable distance for camera with 2MP sensor is 10ft. Infrared illuminators do not harm people and pets, but you should not look directly at a working illuminator (infrared or a usual) for a long time to avoid unpleasant sensations in your eyes.
